     Its all about water quality

There is an ever increasing awareness of watershed related issues among the citizens and  government of Stark County Ohio.  Most people are concerned about water quantity issues due to the floods of 2003 and 2004, which were a harsh reminder that we are just a small part of the ecosystem.  When water wants to spill over its banks and disrupt our lives we really have very little power to stop it.

However, with water quality we have more power than we know to stop the damage from pollution.  That is why the NCWP was formed by Eric Akin, Watershed Coordinator for the Upper Tuscarawas River Watershed.  He invited a diverse group of people representing private citizens, local government, businesses, and Earth Action Partnership to join forces and connect with the community to protect and restore our Nimishillen Creek.  We all believe we have an individual responsibility to take care of our watershed and restore a balance between people and nature to stop the pollution.
