Arboretum
"What kind of tree is that?"
"What does it do for the environment?"
"Does it provide food for wildlife?"
How many times have you looked at a tree and asked these
same questions? We know that just placing a name on a tree is not
enough. That is why we are taking special care in not only identifying
our woodland trees, but providing detailed information about each one as
well.

We are pleased to announce that the National Tree Trust
awarded EAP a project grant in March 2004 to do just that. With the
grant we were able to buy and plant 170 wetland trees along the walking path
through the woods. The remainder of the grant funded special signs
that are now posted at the trees that give detailed information,
pictures, and anecdotes about the trees. This is the beginning of a
program to interpret not only the trees, but the functioning of a healthy
wetland and flood plain.
